McDonough Community Garden plots are available this year, located 2 blocks from Forest Hill Park at 3300 McDonough Street off of Forest Hill Avenue in Richmond Virginia.

McDonough Community Garden provides:

One 6 x 4 Raised bed per household - beds are 8 inches high walls 2 inches thick and soil is 50/50 blend of topsoil/compost
Community use of 250 gallon water tank until a water line is installed on the site.
Composting areas for gardener’s use
Community usage of 8 x 6 greenhouse to start seeds

If you are interested in participating as part of the McDonough Community garden team visit our Help Wanted page and include the position you would like to play in your Statement of Gardening experience.

Please mark three areas that you would be interested in volunteering with during the season. Each gardener is expected to help during the season with general chores.

A plot fee of 25.00 is required before the plot can be assigned. This fee will go toward expenses of the community garden (water bills, plant/seed purchases, community tools, etc.). If you cannot afford the yearly fee, please let us know in your gardening experience statement and we may be able to accommodate you.

I have read the the City of Richmond Community Garden Rules and Regulations and understand that failure to follow the guidelines may result in loss of gardening privileges.
